Welcome to Shorehaven at Alkimos.
Shorehaven is a community designed to be so much more than just a haven by the shore. It’s a special place offering a variety of living options, new adventures and good times, all of which are ready and waiting for you to discover. To get started, all you need to do is to add you. We’ll provide the rest.
From lazy days by the beach, meeting friends at your local Shore Café and Oceans 27 Restaurant, or just taking in another one of nature’s spectacular sky shows at Waterfront Park, there’s plenty to love about life at Shorehaven.
It’s all here.
One of the best things about Shorehaven is how it’s just far enough away from the city to feel like a true retreat on your weekends, yet still close enough to connect you to all your weekday working needs.
It starts with the proximity to the city. Only 37 minutes away by car, to be precise. Joondalup is even closer, at just 20 minutes. Marmion Avenue and the nearby Mitchell Freeway will get you where you need to be by car, or you can catch a train from Butler Train Station – just 7 minutes from home. Easy!
Now it’s time to focus on your free time. Mindarie Marina is just down the road, with plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants to explore. You have two shopping centres within 20 minutes of home, including Ocean Keys Shopping Centre and Lakeside Joondalup. Or, you can head north and enjoy a day at Yanchep Lagoon or Yanchep National Park. It’s up to you!
The Beach Life
When you’re ready to relax, 1.7 km of sparkling blue ocean awaits you at your local swimming beach. How you enjoy it is entirely up to you. Cool off with a quick dip, watch the kids play in the sand, or challenge yourself to a longer swim. As a proud sponsor of Swimming WA, we hosted the Open Water Swim series, which gives everyone the chance to head out to the water and have fun.
The activity doesn’t just stop on the sand, either. Leading right to the beach is your local Waterfront Park, offering front-row seats to some of the most incredible sunsets you’ll ever see. At close to 25,000 sqm in size, Waterpark Park is the largest beachfront park in Perth’s northern coastal corridor. It’s the place to be all year round, with plenty of space for exercise, get-togethers, BBQs and everything in between. This includes regular Shore Things events for Haveners and friends.
As you can see, there’s always plenty happening down by the beach at Shorehaven. So grab you towel and get ready to join in the fun!
The Family Life
There’s something for the whole family at Shorehaven. Kids will love exploring the local parks, including our Nature Play playground at Mizzen Park. Featuring two play spaces for toddlers and bigger kids, together with grassed areas and BBQ facilities, it’s a popular spot. The nearby Topsail Park is also a favourite choice for picnics.
Looking to add some exercise into your day? Your Forestay Park Playing Oval is the place to do it. Featuring cricket nets, footy goals, a large grassed area and a half basketball and netball court, it’s a fun way to enjoy an afternoon with the kids.
Then, there’s your everyday essentials. The school run is easy with Northshore Christian Grammar School within the community. The neighbouring St James’ Anglican School, Alkimos Beach Primary School and Alkimos Primary School are also within easy reach. Back at home, you’ll also find Great Beginnings Childcare, Alkimos Medical Centre and more, ensuring convenience is never far away.
The foodie Life
If all that fresh sea air makes you hungry, Shorehaven has just the thing for you. Within a short stroll of the beach, you’ll find the Shore Café, a favourite with locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re just grabbing a coffee before starting your day, looking for a hearty meal or meeting friends for sunset drinks, you’ll find it here.
The Shore Café is also joined by Oceans 27 Restaurant, complete with indoor and outdoor dining and a full bar. With a menu packed full of family favourites, together with a substantial range of drinks for when it’s time to toast life’s milestones, Oceans 27 offers relaxed beachside dining at its best.
Just 20 minutes’ drive from Shorehaven, you can enjoy even more good vibes at the pubs, cafes and restaurants of Mindarie Marina. There are plenty of takeaway and dining options even closer to home, too. Whatever you are in the mood for, Shorehaven has you covered.
There’s always plenty to look forward to throughout the year at Shorehaven, thanks to a regular calendar of Shore Things community events.
From treat-filled mazes to crafting communities, movie nights at Waterfront Park, high-flying kite festivals and much more, our Shore Things events help bring everyone together. By becoming a Havener, you’ll enjoy a front row seat every time we celebrate food, fun, family and more.
